ATV Accidents

Helping the Injured, Making Products Safer for All

People complain about lawyers, but if it weren’t for personal injury attorneys, many more people would have been seriously injured or killed in ATV accidents.

When they were first introduced, ATVs were three wheelers that were inherently unstable and had other design flaws. People were frequently injured and killed in ATV rollover accidents. One model lacked a safety guard between the foot peg and the wheel. If the peg impinged on the wheel, it would take the flesh right off the driver’s leg from the knee down.

Using the Law to Encourage Social Responsibility

Thanks to successful lawsuits on behalf of victims and their families, attorneys forced manufacturers to come up with safer designs. ATV accidents still occur, but not as frequently.

Does your lawn tractor have a roll bar on it? Does your push mower have a safety shut off? They are there because of personal injury attorneys. When big corporations refused to spend a few extra dollars to make a product safer, putting profits over people, we held them responsible for their actions. Through large verdicts and settlements, we encouraged manufacturers to do the right thing.

I am proud to be part of a profession that has helped compensate people who were injured through no fault of their own, and whose work has made products safer for everyone.
